Parties are one of the best times to use fireworks to make the event more spectacular even though most people don’t consider them during the planning stages. Most people think of Independence Day or New Year’s Eve when they think of having fireworks at a party, but they are actually a lot of fun and very popular for parties year round. When you are shopping for party fireworks, it is important to know what qualities to look for when you head to the local store. Many people have the mistaken notion that all fireworks are created equal, but there are major differences in the colors, duration, and size of most fireworks. Knowing what to look for in each type of firework will help you get your shopping done right and get the most for your money at your party.
Novelties
You really can’t go wrong when buying novelties for your party; unless there aren’t going to be kids there. Novelty fireworks include items like the little black snakes and the snaps you throw at the ground, so most adults will find them much too dull for their taste. However, assuming you have kids at the party, novelties will likely be one of your most popular firework items overall. Make sure you get a good variety of them so the kids don’t get bored in a hurry.
Sparklers
Sparklers are a staple item anytime you plan to have fireworks because people of all ages enjoy using them as they watch the larger part of the show. When you are shopping for a party, choosing the brightest sparklers is very important because you want everyone to be able to see them as easily as possible. If you buy cheap sparklers that are poor quality, they will not burn brightly and likely fizzle out before everyone gets their fill of the fun.
Fountains
Fountains are the type of fireworks that most people use as the “meat and potatoes” for their backyard shows at parties. Fountains are set on the ground and stay stationary as they shoot colorful showers and beads of sparks into the air for everyone to see. The best fountains for a party will probably be a little on the smaller side because the large ones can shoot sparks over 30 feet into the air; which is much too high to use safely in most situations. Most people buy a small variety of fountains that range in size from small to large to create their own show. This is a great way to go, just make sure you don’t buy too large of fireworks for your finale.
Other Fireworks
There are other types of fireworks that are popular for bigger shows and people who live in the country such as firecrackers, bottle rockets, and mortars; but are not usually a good idea to include these at your party. Untrained people using large fireworks can lead to injury, and this is particularly true when alcohol is involved (which is very common at parties). You are probably better off just sticking with the fireworks that are safer and stay stationary on the ground so you don’t risk and property damage or injury from an accident or misuse. As long as you know what you’re buying, you can have a lot of fun using fireworks at you party without anyone needing to worry about safety concerns.
