- Use a tripod. No matter how steady your hand is, you will likely bump and jostle the camera which will lead to blurry photos. Tripods come in all shapes and sizes and don’t have to be expensive.
- Turn off the flash on the camera; it is not required because the fireworks will be bright enough.
- Instead of pressing the shutter button with your finger, try using the remote control or the timer on the camera instead. This also helps to minimize the amount of shaking.
- Alter your camera settings so that you are taking photographs on a long exposure time and shutter speed. This will capture a few seconds of the fireworks and create the look of beautiful long trails of light in the air.
