Do You Need a Throw for a Leather Sofa?

Leather settees are very much misunderstood. As such, many people use throws for them when really they are perfectly fine without them, and not only will spills be very easy to clean up – and in fact potentially easier to resolve than if you spilt something on a throw – but they are also going to be perfectly temperate no matter what the weather.

In fact, the only reason to really look at using a throw is if you have pets who love to sharpen their claws on sofas. Scratches can be remedied and dealt with, but should a cat or dog go to town on your beautiful furniture you may be left with very few options.

A throw will protect your sofa from such deep, malicious scratches, but for those worried about stains or temperature, there will be no need to use any material covering whatsoever. Some people choose to use a blanket on their sofa in the winter for extra comfort and cosiness, but this will have little to do with the sofa being made of leather and far more to do with the fact that blankets are simply a very welcome addition to any sofa in the colder months.

Leather suites tend to adapt to body temperature almost immediately, making them the perfect option for both summer and winter, keeping them hot when the weather outside is frightful and cool when other options may make you sweaty.

It is rare for those who choose to buy a leather sofa to later go back to any other material and, therefore, unless you need to protect your sofa from excitable pets, it will almost certainly be fine just as it is.
